Have you ever asked yourself, why do we travel?
Some familiar answers are bound to pop up in your head. Vacation! Of course. Relaxed vibes? Absolutely. A break from the monotony? Totally. After all, who wouldn't like to enjoy some time off from work, or otherwise, to visit new places and explore the world?
I started out with the same zeal. My first memories of travel date back to when I was probably three, and my parents had taken me to Himachal Pradesh, a mountainous state in northern India. Since then, I've travelled across the country, covering the hills of the north to the bays of the south, and the swamps of the east to the dunes of the west. In all this time, I've come to realise that travelling teaches you something truly rare. Something, that comes only by observing life from the traveler's frame.
It teaches you humility. When I meet people across boundaries and barriers, I come to understand that we are all truly the same - in quest of a better, meaningful life. Too many yearn for what we have, while we lament our fortunes. Hardships are a way of life for many, whereas we are impatient over the minutest of difficulties.
This blog is an attempt to journal my travels - I do not document as much as I would like to! Yet this is a decent start. Sincere thanks for coming along with me on this journey to find ourselves through the places we visit.
Then - shall we go?
